Lick Creek is one of Central Illinois’ premier country acts, delivering a high-energy blend of modern country, southern rock, and blues-driven grit. Known for powerful dual lead vocals, tight three-part harmonies, and top-tier musicianship, the band has built a loyal following across Illinois and the Midwest for over a decade.

Formed in 2013 by Lance Stone, Lick Creek quickly established a reputation for dynamic live performances and a sound that bridges genres while staying rooted in country tradition. The addition of Maddie Brown in 2014 brought a defining vocal balance, giving the band a distinctive male/female lead combination that sets them apart on stage.

Early momentum saw Lick Creek sharing stages with national artists including David Nail, Aaron Lewis, The Steel Woods, and Cody Jinks. That exposure fueled the band’s transition from covers to original music, beginning with their first release, Bend.

In 2017, Lick Creek gained national attention as a Top 10 finalist out of more than 1,700 acts in the Nash Nextcompetition, performing at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon in front of an industry panel that included Kix Brooks, Desmond Child, Scott Borchetta, and Brantley Gilbert.

The band followed that success with their full-length album Too Damn Country, released June 14, 2019—a project that further defined their signature sound: a modern country foundation infused with the attitude of ‘70s southern rock and the soul of outlaw country.
